SMS Text Messaging and Marketing
I ordered a pizza the other day online - on Tuesday night, around dinner time I got a text message from the pizzeria telling me about a 1/2 price pizza deal they had on, along with their phone number. Clever marketing - guess what I had for dinner? Virtually Sorted can also run this type of bulk SMS text promotion. Previous clients include: beauty therapists, networking organisations, training companies and service companies.
Can you send the text "from" me?
Yes - you can choose an 11 character "From ID" which might be your company name or your phone number. If you want responses direct to your mobile phone, we would recommend using a phone number. If you would prefer they log onto a website or call you, we would recommend using a name as the ID and detailing the contact details in the text message.
What format do you need the phone numbers in?
We will send you a Microsoft Excel file which shows you the format in which we need the phone numbers. You can often download your customers' mobile numbers from your accounting programme, from your email programme or even from your Virtually Sorted call answering list. As registered Data Controllers we will always check your compliance with the Data Protection Act before sending any messages.
What do I include?
You can include up to 140 characters including website details, a phone number, special promotions or simply a reminder about an event. We recommend you send this at the optimum response time for your target market e.g. at dinner time for a pizzeria or an hour before an event as a reminder.
